CONTEN Elementary Cl Advertising From the rising down of the same, praised. sun unto the going rd s name is to be Psalm 113:3 Dedication 1983-1984 Board Of Augusta Christian School The yearbook staff would like to thank the board of Augusta Christian School for twenty-five years of Christian service and dedication. Twenty-five years ago a dream was fulfilled with the opening of Augusta Christian School, a school in the area where students could get a spiritual as well as an academic education. The school has undergone many changes over the past twenty-five years, but has continued to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord. After a fire destroyed the original building, the board did not give up but worked hard to keep the school going. Today the school is in Martinez and is continuing to grow thanks to the dedication and determina- tion of the board. Therefore, we again thank the board for its continued service to Augusta Christian School. Thanks Mrs. Bryngelson, Mrs. Havird, Mr. Whitney. Mr Murphy. Mr. Halvorsen, and Mr. Prestwood. In every thing give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. II Thessalonians 5:18 2 Twenty-five Years AUGUSTA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL! Donald Schearer It has been a great pleasure to serve as headmaster these past two years. I can honestly say that the students have been extremely cooperative. The parents have been very supportive and concerned about the school. There has been a good relationship with the school board members. I couldn't be more pleased with the excellent staff that God has sent here. In adding up all of this, everyone has made it a joy to be the administrator of Augusta Christian School. I would like to solicit your prayers, however, as God has given me a burden for the young people here. I cannot be more satisfied with any other accomplishment here at ACS than that of having our students become more Christ-like. I see a nice positive direction and I encourage all students and parents to continue praying for ACS. But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 15:57 Donald Schearer High School Faculty Letitia Andrews Tim Bourdo Harriet DeWitt Lloyd Domingos Rhem Evans Roger Evans Terry Evans Rosemary Gray Mary Johnson Ruth Lewis Rick Linaburg Kristy Lyon Linda Marvicsin Cindy Pelioni Anne Sawyer Maggie Ward Myrle Wiltshire Terri Wheeler 33 34 Staff Of Augusta Christian Betty Waters Bus Coordinator Diane Johnson Bus and Lunchroom Beth Sammons Bus and Lunchroom Tammy Linaburg Bus Driver Brenda Manning Bus Driver Cindy Pelioni Bus Driver De De Maddox Secretary Sharon Coleman Bookkeeper Robert Hawes Maintenance Early Simmons Maintenance Alexander Loo Mechanic Girls Softball 38 Kneeling: Stephanie Bell, Becky Lanius, Amy Manning, Rhonda Howard, Lara Sims, Paula Poteet, Lyna Wagner, Coach Maggie Ward; Assistant Coach Gloria Blackwell, Amy Williams, Angela Powell, Jennie Bragg, Deanne Anderson, Vicki James, Missy Parham, Michelle Lanius, Lynn Sammons, Batgirl Anna Gray Coach's Award — Amy Williams Most Valuable Player — Missy Parham Not Pictured: Lyna Wagner — Most Improved 39 Coach Maggie Ward Varsity Football 1983 Schedule Wilkes 14-7 L Nathaniel Greene 17-7 L Cross Keys 32-12 L Briarwood 30-0 L Screven 45-0 W One Way 29-8 W David Emanuel 7-6 W Robert Toombs 40-0 L Thomas Jefferson 36-6 L Trinity 35-0 L 1... _ David Sims — Senior Coaches; Roger Evans, Tim Bourdo, Rick Linaburg, and Rhem Wes Goodwin — Soph. From the window I watched a P.E. class playing soccer, while thinking 'I may never pass this way again”. And in this seemingly insignificant view from my window I remembered three unchanging properties: First, that God made us. Second, that God loves us. And third, that God keeps us. Leaving Augusta Christian Schools is difficult for me, but knowing and remembering that He has made me, that He loves me, and that He will keep me, gives me the courage to move on. Knowing only this, I can go all places, laugh gently, love largely and hope everlastingly. It is my hope that each student passing through Augusta Christian Schools, whether it be for one day or more, will come to know Christ as his Lord and Savior. Christ made it abundantly clear that we are dear to God. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows” (Luke 12:6,7) I look to God in deep gratitude for the promise that Augusta Christian Schools gives to our children and our community. There are wondrous things in store for all those who see the hand of God in all of life. There is no better time than now to remember the true words of God: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35) Serving Him Gladly, Pat Goodwin Elementary
