Richard A. Machovec, Headmaster One Step at a Time is a most appropriate theme for our 1977-78 yearbook. The wise writer of Proverbs states, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Following Christ, one step at a time, is not without obstacles. The way at times may be slippery . . . we're allowed to take one step forward and slide back two. On other occasions the path appears unsurmountable, cluttered with rocks, thorns and deep ravines; yet we follow and the way is made clear. The Lord allows our school to travel both the freeways and footpaths of life, but our real challenge comes when we lean on Him in the dark valleys of our school's progress. After three years of trodding the school's path, I have met many wonderful people traveling in the same direction. Some were taking steps long before I came, some came at the same time I d'd, others came later. To all - board members, staff, faculty, parents, students and friends of ACS that have been acknowledging the Lord and following Him, THANK YOU. To those that feel our path has been meandering - please be patient, God is not finished with ACS yet. We will succeed! In His Service,
