And therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words, “I am an American!” 9 Dedication In the dedication of the 1975-76 Sword this year we go to one of our faculty members. This man is one whom we all know and love dearly. Without all of his time, help, and patience the yearbook staff would not have gotten through some rough times in the planning of this yearbook. We might not even have had such a wonderful singing group as the Singing Saints had it not been for this man. Even though he is leaving us we know he will always be praying for us and since we won’t be seeing his bright, smiling face among us next year: We, the students, staff, and faculty, parents and Board of Direc- tors dedicate our 1975-76 Sword to Mr. Jim Hill. 11 Headmaster Is there hope for the American system of education? Can the lack of discipline, poor methods, and weak standards pro- duce the quality of education that parents desire for their children? Children who need to be taught academic skills, pat- riotism and hard work are growing up in an educational system which says that the whole of education is “life adjustment”. God has raised up Augusta Christian School and other Christian schools through-out this great country of ours. Many factors have affected the growth of these schools: poor academics, drugs, bus- ing, the taking of prayer out of the public school, lax morals, and no discipline. However, the underlying basis for the Christian school is not found in these weaknesses but based on the Bible — the absolute Truth. We need your prayers, support and encouragement. Without Jesus Christ and you dear parents, our school would not be where it is today. In Christ, Richard A. Machovec Headmaster 12 Assistant Headmaster All in a day’s work . . . Georgia at the terminus of the only railroad west. However, some people thought that the noise of the train would disturb their cows and frighten their chickens, and would result in lowering the quality of their dairy and poultry products. Because of this, our company moved the location of the new depot six miles to the west, to a town called Marthasville. later known as Atlanta. Atlanta has come a long way since Georgia Railroad built that first depot. And so has The Georgia. Today we're one of the major banks in Georgia. And like in those early railroad days we are reaching out to help people meet their financial needs. We've also been reaching out to make life a little easier with 14 convenient locations in Augusta. Helping is more than a tradition with us. It's what's kept us growing for 142 years. And. it's what helped put The Georgia on the right track.
