 — The Augsburg Spirit Augsburg is a Christian college. Her program is planned to express and interpret the spirit and teachings of Christ. Her fundamental education ideals 3te shaped by His Word. These ideals may be summarized in three brief phrases: spiritual rebirth through faith in Cod, unselfish service to one’s fellow-men, fearless devotion to truth. Only by following this Way of Christ can humanity solve its deepest problems. The true Augsburg spirit comes to expression as the Christian life-pattern is wrought out in classroom and dormitory, in the individual student’s life and in the thousand activities of live campus. Principles alone arc not enough. Words must become flesh. Fhe dedication of the 1948 Augsburgian challenges us to let this spirit of Augsburg express itself ever more completely, to the end that each of us may become a noble exemplar of the new Life, the good Way, the living Truth revealed in Christ.
