Our class officers for this year were: President, Myron Mohr; Vice President, Greg Hornish; Secretary, Sandra Bidlack; Treasurer, Mildred Shisler; News Reporter, Marilyn Grove; and Stu¬ dent Council Representative, Charlene Brown. In October we were initiated by the sophomores, making us feel like real high school students. In September, 1957, we entered the school doors as sophomores. Those who didn ' t return were Jeanetta Good, Shirley Mobley, and Michael Singer. During the year we lost Ellen Bidlack. Our class officers for this year were: President, Jack Oliver; Vice President, Greg Hornish; Secretary, Wilma Porter; Treasurer, Marilyn Grove; News Reporter, Myron Mohr; and Student Council Representative, Sandra Bidlack. Our advisors were Mr. Rohrs and Mr. Thoburn. This year we initiated the freshmen and had different money-making activities. The next September we found ourselves entering as juniors with Mr. Rohrs as our advisor. Those who didn ' t return were Charlene Deatrick, Terry Eblin, Nancy Horner, Lulu Bell Wilder, and Gary Yoh. Those we lost during the year were Janice Aldrich, Catherine Miller, Kathleen Rhees, and Ruth Teegarden. We added two new members to our class, Sandra Hubbard and Charles Baker. Our class officers for the junior year were: President, Myron Mohr; Vice President, Jack Oliver; Secretary, Marilyn Grove; Treasurer, Sandra Bidlack; News Reporter, Phillip Brown; and Student Council Representatives, Greg Hornish and Jack Oliver. This year we were pretty busy. We ordered our class rings, which we were very proud of. In November we presented a play, Headin ' for the Hills, under the direction of Mr. Graebner. We worked very hard preparing the Junior-Senior Prom which we presented May 2, 1959, with the theme With A Song In My Heart. In September 1959, we entered the school once again, only this time as seniors. This was our best and busiest year. Once again Mr. Rohrs was our advisor. Those who didn ' t return were Charlene Brown, Harvey Head, and Leo Merriman. Those whom we lost during the year were: Joyce Etter, Melvin Myers, Joyce Weible, and Donna Shafer. We elected for our senior officers the following: President, Greg Hornish; Vice President, Jack Oliver; Secretary, Marilyn Grove; Treasurer, Sharon Schwaderer; News Reporter, Stanley Adams; and Student Council Representative, Glen Deatrick. We ordered our announcements and name cards, and in October we went to Fostoria to have our senior pictures taken. We chose our class colors which are royal blue and white; and our class flower, the carnation. Our class motto is Climb High, Climb Far, Your Aim, the Sky, Your Goal, the Star. In April we presented our play, Sunkissed, under the direction of Mrs. David Logan. We greatly appreciated the beautiful prom which the juniors presented to us on May 7, 1960, entitled, An Evening in Paris. On May 15, we left for our trip to Washington, D. C. accompanied by Mr. Mrs. Rohrs. Our Baccalaureate was held May 22, 1960, and Commencement May 27, 1960. PROPHECY This is HELEN MATSON and ALICE HORNER, your roving announcers from radar and T.V. station OHS, broadcasting from the planet earth. These are the facts and nothing will be with¬ held to protect the guilty, as we take you into the year of 1970. As we stroll down the ruby-paved avenue of New York, we see something familiar about the large building at our right. The huge sign reads, You stab ' em, we slab ' em. As we get a closer view, we see it is a mortuary owned by STANLEY ADAMS, PHIL BROWN, and EU¬ GENE YENSER. We hear it is a very profitable business. As we turn down Madison Avenue, we see a dress shop which to our surprise is owned by LUCILLE HEAD and VIOLET FINNEGAN. They design SHARON ANDREW ' S clothes for her nightly appearances in Cry Baby Blues starring MILLIE SHISLER. We hear it is a great hit, but why not, with a co-star like LARRY Glamour-boy GERKEN. Naturally, their success in pictures is due to the constant effort of CHARLES BAKER, their dramatic teacher. Turning down Saphire Street we see the Earth Pansey baseball team at practice. Their pitcher, MARY speed-ball WARNER has set a record with no wins for this season. While we are still on the subject of sports, we have four very famous basketball players to coach our Hot Shot School basketball team in New York. They are JUNIOR Stringbean FOHN F R, GREGORY Romeo HORNISH, DON Pretty Boy BRADFORD, and JERRY Cassanova BORCK. As we continue our tour, we come to Loose Brain College with all its brilliant students. In passing through the science lab, we see JACK OLIVER and DEAN COLWELL working on a new experiment on How to increase the size of pgymies. They have not had very good suc¬ cess so far. In leaving the college, we stop at the secretary ' s office and to our surprise, we see none other than MARILYN GROVE behind the desk. As we leave the main building we approach the campus snack bar and hear three great Vahs for SHARON SCHWADERER, the campus queen and also for RICHARD HUFF, the cam¬ pus king. Stepping inside we bump into PHYLLIS and WILMA PORTER, who are studying modeling, under the guidance of SANDRA HUBBARD. Sitting at a near table, feeding their faces are TOM LLOYD, DARWIN LEE, and FRANKLIN REINECK. They tell us they are taking a course in Agriculture and are learning how to obtain chocolate milk from a brown cow. As yet, they ' ve been unsuccessful . As we are leaving the campus, we see a small building secluded from the public by a group of evergreen trees. Being suspicious about the building, we cautiously approach it. Who should greet us but Dr. MYRON MOHR, who is a psychiatrist at the college. He tells us his latest patient is NICKY Goof-Off SPENCER who is now a famous comedian on T.V. His partner is JERRY STOLLER. Leaving the campus grounds, we are walking toward town when we see two figures approaching. We recognize our old classmates SHARON McVAY and WANDA CARNAHAN. They are both pushing baby carriages with the cutest little babies. As you have guessed, they are both happily married. Walking further down the street, our attention is drawn by a loud shout of a newspaper boy whom we recognize as LAWRENCE DENSMORE. We bought a paper and looking at it we see headlines proclaiming that SANDRA BIDLACK has just won the title of Miss America. We also see by the paper that GLEN DEATRICK has been chosen Father of the Year. He now has 13 lovely children. Glancing on the sports page, WAYNE BUTLER ' S name is drawn to our attention. He saved a boy ' s life during a basketball game, by being an expert on artificial respiration. We have enjoyed the day very much, as we once again got together with our old classmates. And now with our journey ended, we will retire to our apartments. 22 The Senior Class of 1960 left for Washington May 15 with their chaperones, Mr. and Mrs. William Rohrs. We all had a wonderful time. It was indeed a pleasure trip as well as a very educational one 1. Waitin ' at the station. 2. Time to go to bed? 3. What ' s so funny? 4. Get up, you sleepyhead. 5. What ' s behind those bars? 6. Is it interesting, girls? 7. Our own floor show? 8. It must have got her down. 9. The end of a perfect week. The Girls ' Basketball Team (No picture available) ended the season with a record of 8 wins and no losses. The had the best forward-guard combination of all the teams the played and were just as strong on defense as they were on offense. Playing the guard position, and doing an excellent job of it, were: Mil¬ dred Shisler. Phyilis Porter, Frances Bidlack, and Carol Harmon. The combi¬ nation of Wilma Porter ' s and Mary Warner ' s long shots, and Ann Keck ' s lay¬ ups, led the team to its victorious season. Even the bench, which consisted of Carol Harmon, Joyce Aden, Helen Butler, Cheryl Mohr, and Margie Ames, could be counted on in emergencies. Ruth Ann Shisler assisted as referee for the team. The girls that the team will lose this year are: Mary Warner, Wilma Porter, Phyllis Porter, and Mildred Shisler. Thanks to these girls for their part in rep¬ resenting our school and for helping to make their record so good. 40 BASEBALL FIRST ROW: Darhl Fuller, Dean Colwell, Doug McBride, Don Bradford, Greg Hornish, Tom Boroff, Robert Moore. Coached by Wayne Miller and Lester Bowsher, the boys came through the season with 23 wins and 4 losses. The Bobcats defeated Antwerp, Payne, and Blue Creek, in the County Tournament, and then defeated Stryker in the Sectional Tournament. In district games, Oakwood first beat Ful¬ ton, and then, in the best and most exciting game of the year, the Bobcats defeated the un¬ defeated Ayersville team and became District Champs. Although Lykens eliminated us in the Regional Tournament, we were really proud of the Bobcats. The Athletic Banquet was held on Saturday night, April 23. Mr. Miller and Mr. Bowsher gave out several awards. The Cooper ' s Sportsmanship award was given to Steve Huff. The Flechtner ' s Sportsmanship award was presented to Junior Fohner. Junior also received the Most Valuable Player award. All the varsity players were presented an extra letter which said District Champs. Don Bradford, Greg Hornish, and Jerry Borck were chosen for All County Team, and they each received a trophy at the County Championship game. Gary Thomas received the Parker Sportsmanship award at the County tournament. Our High School Band members have been kept busy this year. A Pep Band was organized and played at pep rallies and several home basketball games. The Show Band, consisting of the older members of the band, played for several programs in the school and in the county. Some of the band members participated in District Auditions, District Music Festival, County Band, and the Defiance College Band. Each one who took part in these activities gained a lot in music experience. The climax of the year was the annual spring concert. The band worked dili¬ gently in preparing several numbers for the program. Two outstanding music awards were presented at the concert. Sandra Bidlack received the Arion award, and Mil¬ dred Shisler received the John Philip Sousa award. Our Girls ' Chorus has been an enjoyable part of school this year. We entertained at a P.T.A. Meeting and also at School Chapel Programs. The Spring Music Festival, which is an annual event at our school, was the high point of the year for us, and we all worked hard preparing for it. Four of our girls took part in the District Music Festival at Bluffton, Ohio, which was a wonderful experience. We all wish to thank Mr. Christman for the training he has given us. 51 SHOW BAND FIRST ROW: Richard Huff, Alice Horner, Sandra Bidlack, Dianne Heller, Mary Ann Belau.
