. . . Sets Off a Winning Spirit The Wheeler marching band led the ’67 Homecom- ing parade of queen candidates, floats, coaches, and cheerleaders. The parade was one of the longest AHS has ever had, as classes and clubs exhibited their ingenuity in creat- ing new ideas. The Lettermen’s Club created a new sen- sation with their version of the reclamation of the ol’ victory wagon. “The third time’s the charm” applied to the Seniors as they came up with the winning float, “We Nude We’d Win”. The Juniors received second followed by the Sophomores. Fortunately the rain stopped long enough for the AHS marching band to put on a halftime show to re- member. The Homecoming week was brought to a cli- max as Queen Vickie and her court, Janet McCune, Mar- lene Eddy, Judy Sornson, and Mary Weber were escor- ted on to the field by Dave McLaughlin, Greg Off, Fred Hansen, John Madsen, and Dave Abildtrup. Even the wet weather could not dampen the Wheel- er spirit as they came off the field with a 20-6 victory over the Sac City Indians. A night of music provided by the FORTUNES ended the 1967 AHS Homecoming festivities. is AUDUBON PRODUCE BROADWAY TAVERN
