The success that we have attained is largely the fruit of his guidance. As his influence is reflected on these pages, so it will forever remain stamped in our minds. The results, (1-7), while not too impressive, showed Audubon began its campaign by losing an ex- citing first game to Perry (13-7). The Wheelers then, after taking an early lead, lost to Harlan (22-6). This was followed by victory over Sac City (13-6), a game in which the Audubon offense gained over 400 total yards. Then came the most disappointing loss to Carroll, a 16-12 homecoming decision. The Wheelers dropped a 27-6 decision to Denison, 20-6 to Ida Grove, and 20-6 to Lake City. The high point of the season was a 21-12 loss to conference champion Jefferson. 72 great encouragement for the future. Scowhomd Audubon 6 . . Audubon 6 . . Audubon 13 . . Audubon 12 . . Audubon 6 . . There were times we thought we couldn't! Our minds are wracked, Our backs are stooped, The WHEELER” is here and we are POOPED!! WHEELER STAFF 127 The Magic Formula? A Very Private Conference And they came , one by one. Look Pleasant I do not feel that the WHEELER would be complete without this short appendage recognizing some of the people that have worked so hard to make this WHEELER possible. The largest single contributor to the WHEELER, one who helped me with her good advice and her wholehearted support, is Mrs. Zent- mire, WHEELER advisor. I could not have asked for a better person with whom to work. The work of business manager, Larry Wellendorf, and his assist- ant, Denny King, have made it possible to finance this adventure. Bouquets, also, to Eton Mortensen for being staff photographer and for being my constant helper. Another Deadline Mary Bowman and Patti Barrett teamed together to feature the organizations. The fine job on activities was done by Marianne Lang. Musicians Janet Shoemaker and Tom Peterson co-operated to produce the music pages and also did the graduation coverage. Senior pages were under the efficient direction of Kay Andersen, while Janice Christensen managed the underclassmen. Procrastinating sports editors, who always came through, were Arlys Miller and Mark Nielsen. Shirley Eddy was in charge of faculty and administration. Special thanks- ... to Jensen Studio. Don Jensen’s patience and suggestions have been greatly appreciated. ... to the faculty and administration personnel who understood-- compensating for those who did not and who expected the impossible. ... to the businessmen whose advertisements made this annual possible. Finally, thanks to you-the students-whose antics and capers have provided the basis for this story of the school year. Carolyn Brue-Editor Finished! At Last.
