As school opened last fall, ninety-one unproven newcomers entered the high school ranks as mem- bers of the freshman class. This, they realized, started the cadence of a four-year march that would ter- minate for most of them in graduation. In their first year, the class of 1962 has exhibited great potential in several fields, music, athletics, and scholastic standing. Pictured above, along with two of their class sponsors, are the class-elected officers who led their class’s first-year activities: Cheryl Schmidt, treasurer; Mr. Stuck and Mr. Williams, sponsors; Roger Fett, vice-president; Mary Rasmussen, secre- tary; Rosemary Miller, president. Representing the class scholastically are the nine freshmen whose grades placed them on the first-sem- ester honor roll. They are: Vernice Jensen, Linda Winther, Carol Mortensen, Steven Lindholm, Jeanette Christiansen, Pat Merselis, Glenn Reinemund, Wava Tessman, LaDonna Swensen.
