One of the greatest honors a high school student can achieve is election into the National Honor Society. The Society recognizes the stu- dent who has established an academic standing in the upper ranks of his class, but equally important in his selection is the students contri- bution to the whole school life. He is chosen on the basis of leadership, service, character, and scholarship. The flaming torch of knowledge is the em- blem of the National Honor Society.
