A Plant testing becomes a daily routine for agriculture students. Basic training in agriculture and related sciences. necessary for maintaining or increasing the efficiency of agricultural production, is provided by the School of Agriculture. Positions occupied by Auburn agriculture graduates include not only those in farming, but also those in industry and businesses related to farming, in the nation’s great forest industries, in agriculture research and education, in foreign agriculture service, in wildlife work, in agriculture communications, and in many other segments of the industry. To accomplish this end. B.A. degrees are offered in six curriculars: Agriculture Science. Agriculture Administration. Agriculture Engineering. Forestry, Ornamental Horticulture, and other Zoologial Sciences. A student may major in any one of more than a dozen fields including, Agronomy and Soils. Animal Husbandry and Nutrition. Dairy Production. Entomology. and Game management. The demand for graduates with advanced degrees is also being filled by the school through the offering of the Master’s degree by all departments and the Ph.D. degree by several departments. Although the South is rapidly becoming industrialized. there will always be a need for agriculture and Auburn is helping the South in this field. Dran E. V. Smith; Vice President.
