The School Auburn's School of Education is responsible for trainirg teachers. Supervisors, and administrators for the educational system of our country. The students trained in Auburn’s education department will take their places among the future educators of our nation ond apoly their newly-acquired skill for the promotion of modern, diversified education. Auburn’s School of Educot'on, for many years, has contributed greatly In filling the need for educators. Programs designed to prepare the future educators for elementary and secondary schools include instruction in the special fields of vocational agricu ture. home economics, industrial arts, and physical education. Tne School of Education also instructs educators in 'he fields of music, art, dramatics, and speech. Reading specialists, guidance counselors, psychologists. personnel managers, and various other specialists are trained by the education department. Alabama has long been in need of an efficient and stimulating educational system. Auburn's School of Education is taking groat steps to alleviate this situation. Through modern teaching methods Auburn's competent education instructors are turning out more end better educators for Alabama’s classrooms.

The S c h o ho School of Engineering is perhaps the fastest growing of all schools on the Auburn campus. With •his rapid growth Auburn has developed ore of the best engineering schools in the nation. 'he school requires that a student be fu ly prepared to meet the necessary standards and assume responsibility in modern industry. The school offers baccalaureate degrees in aeronautical, civil and electrical engineering. In aO-dition, options in communications, electric power, engineering ohysics. mechanical engineering, textile engineering, aeronautical administration, industrial management, and textile management are offered. The curriculum in engineering is basically the same :or all different branches for the first 'wo years. The last two years may be devoted to specialization courses in the particular field desired. For these students wishing to obta'n a Master's degree in engi-naming, a fifth year of gracuate work is offered. The programs of study have been liberalized by the inclusion of a series of social studies and literature course which extend through the four years of the Curriculum. Students who qraduate in the engineering or management curricula are prepared for many positions of responsibility in industry, engineering organizations, and government aqencies. Auburn engineering graduates are greatly in demand by the government.
