It gives courses of instruction for college credit conducted by regular members of the faculty to those who are unable to come to the campus. I lead The School of Textile Engineering is the newest school on the Cmfnpus of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute, and has for its 0l2JCj:t the training of young men as textile engineers, textile ad- ministrators, specialists in textile design, and in textile chem- istry. It is well equipped with a new and modern plant where both theoretical and practical instructions are given. The great I-Zfowth of the textile industry in Alabama makes the work of this school in education, research and extension important. O Agricultural llfxttension Service LUTHER NOBLE DUNCAN M.s. Director lhe lixtension Service is the medium through which useful and practical information on subjects relating to agriculture and home economics is disseminated among the people of Alabama through Counts llgents, county home demonstration agents and specialists. Dean The School of Architecture and Allied Arts offers degree courses in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, and Applied Art. It is a member of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Archi- tecture and recognized by the American Institute of Architects. The course in Applied Art provides opportunity to specialize in commercial- art, design of furniture, costumes, textiles, wall paper, material designs, and landscape architecture. o School of Veterinary Medicine CHARLES ALLEN CARY B.S., D.v.M. Dorm The School of Veterinary Medicine prepares you men for the profession of veterinarian, livestock disease inspector, govern- mental and army employee along veterinary lines, and as bac- teriologists. Graduates of this school are eligible to membership in the American Veterinary Medicine Association as well as for appointment to governmental positions for which a course in Veterinary Medicine is a prerequisite. O Seihooil of Home Economies Louisa PHILLIPS GLANTON - B.S., M.A. H cad The School of Home Economics offers courses leading to the de- gree Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and trains young women as home managers, child welfare workers, dietitians, and other positions open to graduates in Home Economics. Executive Secretary and Registrar The Executive Secretary is assistant to the president and secre- tary to the Board of Trustees. The registrar's office keeps the scholastic and personal records of all students and furnishes in- formation concerning entrance requirements. Information re- garding students' records are furnished to executive ofiicers of the institutions, members of the faculty and student organiza- tions. , o Zoe Doses A.B., M.A. Dean of W'omen Social Director The Dean of Women is general adviser to women, and through this office a personal contact is secured for them. A close rela- tion is insured which gives increased incentive for higher scholar- ship as well as a desire for a more active participation in college activities. The Social Director exercises indirect supervision of the dances and other social events through the Social Committee. O Sclhooll of Military Science MAJOR GUs'rAv I-I. FRANKE FIA., D.O.L. Comnzazzdant The School of Military Science was established at Auburn at the very inception of the institution under the provisions of the orig- inal Land Grant of Congress accepted by the State of Alabama. It comprises a Field Artillery and an Engineering Unit of the Senior Division of the Reserve Olhcers' Training Corps. This school has received the highest rating awarded by the War De- partment for the past nine years. It offers courses which not alone train the student for the army, but which are valuable as a part of their general education. 0300
