The girls compiled a 17-9 overall record and a 8-1 conference record. Although they lost the first night of the County Tourney to Riverton, they won 2nd place in the Lincolnwood Tourney. They ended the season tied with New Berlin for 1st place in the conference. A few had been able to keep in touch, but the class as a whole had not seen each other in nearly a decade. And it was Dan Marshall, owner and resident pro of Edgewood Country Club who decided to take matters into his own hands to reunite the Class of ’82. The preparations were made, the date was set, and the invitations were mailed. Finally the party day came. Dan had lots of help in setting this up. Barb Hoodak, Melanie Corlas, and Nancy Walker, who run their own packaged liquor store, “We Serve Anybody”, complete with drive-thru and no required I.D., went halvzies with their crosstown rivals “Kev ’N Deb’s” owned and operated by Kevin Jones and Deb Sullivan to supply the liquid refreshments. Munchies were donated by Dave Collins and Chuck DuBois, who have just opened their 500th “Copper Chicken”, their fast food chain which features carmel-popcorn-coated chicken. They’ve hired Barb Stufflebeam as their official taste-tester. Dee Dee Ketchum helped provide entertainment by bringing along some mechanical characters from “Showbiz Pizza Place” which she programmed herself especially for tonight’s gala event. Some of the first guests to arrive were some of Dan’s old sidekicks, Dave Knoepfle, Mark McDonald, Rob McWhinnie, Brent Branham, and Dave LeConte. They all struck it rich selling sporting goods and built their own basketball court which is an exact replica of the one at the East Park. Close behind them were more classmates who had made it big in the business world. Julie Wortley, who eventually bought out her Dad, now had her own chain of shoe stores called “Tootsie Treats” which feature The Dude” designer shoes designed by Lori Dudley. Also employed as Assistant Managers are Tracey Conover and Dana Ashby. Pat Newberry takes care of the advertising. Cindy Moats and Julie Cavaness have become prominent D.J.’s who have been responsible for the air play of many famous recording stars. Some of these include our own Bob Rutherford, Pat Norris, and Butch Pierce who have just finished recording “Willie Nelson’s Greatest Hits” on their own “Nasty Spankie” label. Cam Bates, Monica Pitman, and Susan Palmer also made it big in the music business and can be heard singing back-up on Dan Fogelberg’s latest LP. Cindy Willoughby has been hired as the photographer for the next album cover layout. Some other local color has finally arrived. Gladys Collins has recently finished relandscaping the old AHS lawn after certain parties cut cookies on it. “Doobie” Joe Henn has replaced Lee Curtis as head custodian. Kaye Hurley and Dana Moorman opened their own beauty shop that specialized in punk rock hairdos and co-sponsors Marcia Mitchell, Cindy Miller, and Annette Schneider who have started their own girls speed racer driving team and have just set a new world record for picking off 35 male joggers in one week. Michelle Moore has also started her own health spa and hired Laurie “Stonie” Richards as tennis instructor and Melissa Bassett to teach aerobics. Also located down the street is the “Kiddie Kare-A-Lot Kare Center” operated by Carol Doglio with Delonda Pendall as her assistant. The Class of ’82 also has their share of celebraties. Just pulling in is noted bow hunter and president of the “Valient Canine Club and Obedience Center”, Rick Rahn. In close pursuit are a bevvy of giggling starlets who include Karen Miller, Gail Harris, Mardel Ping, Beth Maley, Tracy Rothert, and Michelle Richey, all who tried making it in the nursing profession but settled for nursing roles on “General Hospital” ... with the exception of Michelle who settled for doing Purina Cat Chow commercials with her cat, Sophie III. Also coming in from television land are pro-football star Jud Silveus and mystery fantasy writer Rod Schumacher who have just finished taping guest shots for the “Richard Simmons Show”. The roar of engines pulling in announces the arrival of Dave Boyer and John Thompson, both who are featured in this month’s issue of “Crash ’N Burn” Magazine for “Wreck of the Year.” Also featured in the same issue is an article about Todd Beatty who has been working on a secret car which runs completely on Bavarian spring water. Assisting him in the experimentation are Todd Brummett, Jim Burress, and Todd Castleman. With the festivities in full swing, the last to arrive finally arrive. All the way from Texas come Frank Cundiff and Jim Thome who produce their own line of chew, flavored with snake venom. Doug Craft, Doug Eastham, Brian Gravit, and Randy McCarty have all become professional college preppies who indulge themselves with reading novels, Shakespeare, and term papers. And with brief case in hand comes Laurie Stowell, D.A., who is currently battling capital punishment in the courts. At her heels are Norma Mittelberg and Carol Carnett, her legal secretaries. Only one classmate couldn’t make it — Mona McCarty ... She was sick. As the night goes on, many happy memories are recalled, such as the football team going to the playoffs, homecoming, Drom. and Consumer’s Ed. But all in all. it was a creat reunion.
