After coming off a terrific victory over a very tough Rochester team, the Trojans went on to have a very successful season. Various injuries hampered the team, but the Trojans still came through with a very fine 18-7 record. The Trojans recorded victories against such stiff competition as Rochester, Virden, Pawnee, Stonington, and Divernon. One of the greatest qualities the Trojans possessed this year was the ability of any one of the starting Seniors to pick up the team and keep them going when the team was down. One of the qualities that the Trojans probably wish that they hadn't possessed was their ability to build up a seem- ingly insurmountable lead and then somehow always manage to make a very close and exciting game out of it. The team finished 3rd in the Waverly Tournament and finished high in the conference standings. Monks, R. Myers, T. Wohrley, L. Kessler, M. Ken, J. Michelich, T. Sandness, J. Allen, D. Ray, M. Megginson, P. Purdom, M. Powell. Harvey is the story of Elwood P. Dowd, a 45-year old, easy going bachelor, and his invisible 6 foot white rabbit friend, Harvey. Elwood and Harvey live with Elwood's sister, Veta, and her daughter, Myrtle. Myrtle is trying to find a husband, with the help of her mother, but her Uncle Elwood and Harvey don't make it any easier for her. Veta then arranges it so that Elwood would be committed to a sanitarium, and she and Myrtle would not be plagued by Elwood and Harvey. But the doctors at the san- itarium think Veta's the one with the screw loose so they try and commit her. They finally realize that it is Elwood that should be entered and apologize to Veta, and then try and get Elwood back. Finally after the doctors are ready to give Elwood Formula ■ ■—, (the miracle drug that will make him not see Harvey any more), Veta realizes that she likes him just the way he is, Harvey and all! 71 72 73 OK - Who blew it? We, the senior girls of '73, leave to some certain freshman girls (commonly known as the W.C.) NOTHING, because they think they already have everything! 113 Senior Prophecy AUBURN, UPI It was a bright and sunny Friday afternoon as the 1973 graduates of Auburn High School held their first reunion ten years after graduation. The first guests began to arrive at 3:35 at that holiest of holy places, ULASKI'S. Among the first arrivals were PAUL PURDOM, leading singer of Ruthie and the Moon Dogs, and STEVE JET” CANNEDY, who is now testing mouth pieces for Doc Severinson. Shortly afterwards, the dignitaries of the class began to arrive: RITA NORRIS, mayor of Norrisville, and TAD NICHOLAS, president and main tester of Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewing Company. Captain CHARLENE DALTON, USAF, found time in her busy schedule to attend. Many of Auburn's former athletes have remained active. DAMON CRAIN became the first white member of the Harlem Globe Trotters. KEN WOODRUFF, star player of the L. A. Lakers, was accompanied by his personal cheerleader, BRENDA VAN HUSS. Next to arrive were the Board of Directors for Bailey's Temporary Office Help, PAT MILLER, BRENDA DUGGER, MARY MANSHIP, PAT PILLISCHAFSKE, BECKY SHAW, DENISE THRAP, KAREN PRILL, and JEANNE PULLIAM. Also on the Board is DON RAY, who checks out all the applicant's qualifications. And here come CAROL SMITH MURLEY, BONNIE McCAIN RICHMOND, and KATHY SNYDER, who are working as marriage counselors. HARRY ZAVERL and Judge MARK KERR handle all their legal work. DANNY NICHOLS couldn't be here because his gas company is being investigated by the F. B. I.; we always thought there was something fishy” about him! Also on hand are KIM COURTY RENKEN and TOM RENKEN, head hot dogs in their own hot dog factory. Now approaching is VAL KESSLER, a world famous actress practicing acupuncture in her spare time (she used it quite frequently on her late husband). Right behind are GAIL HUMMEL and SHERRY CRIQUELION, renowned medical technologists who recently discovered the cure of EPIDIDIMUS. We now see a group of teachers approaching. JILL MORRISON is a P. E. instructor in an all boys' school: KAREN HARRIS is teaching sewing to advanced first graders. PAUL SETTLE has replaced Norman Stauffer as band director at Auburn High School. Could it be? Yes, it is - DONNA KAZENSKE, the roller derby queen. Driving her is her chauffer, WILLIAM GWINN. Now arriving is JOE HOLMES, who owns a chain of taverns around the country. Following him are DAN OSBURN, GOERGECOOK, RYAN DUNN, JOE URBANSKI, TOM LANDERS, DANA AUMILLAR, and RON CARLSON, who transport Joe’s goods around the country. Some of our classmates are now famous literary figures. DON LADAGE's new book, I'm Proud to be a Farmer , is on the best-selling list. DAVID KING recently received a Pultizer Prize in science fiction. DIANE THORNTON has published her book on cattle care. We see PAUL KERHLIKAR, STEVE WALTRIP, and MARK BLOOME, who are professional football scouts. They are discussing the shape of the world with TOM SANDNESS, the owner of his own playboy club. Listening in is DALE ELIASON, who recently purchased a margarine factory. CAROL SCHNEIDER and DEE DEE FLANNIGAN are now personal hairdressers for the President's wife. Next are BO LESLIE and JOEL MESSMORE, who have invented a new contact lense. We're not saying how it works, but both are wearing glasses. The refreshments are being provided by BRENDA STEPHENS, LESLIE DICKINSON, and LOU ANN WALTERS, the head chefs at the Greasy Spoon. KATHY CHRISTMAN and BOB WILLIAMS have just walked in. Kathy is now running a day care center for maladjusted pre-schoolers. Her building was constructed by Bob and his assistant DAN GIBSON. What's that smell? It's BOB and JOHN EARLEY, who flew in from Kenya where they are teaching their farming methods to the natives. They were so excited about this reunion that they forget to clean up first, causing some of their classmates to become very excited. With them is JO ANN LANGHHM, a famous concert pianist who is also teaching a class on finger physical fitness. Last to arrive were GREG KING and MARK HAMILTON, who had transportation problems. When they went to buy Greyhound bus tickets, they discovered that they were a little short. Fortunately, they met two old classmates, DON BRAN EXON and SCOTT CAMERON. Don and Scott recently completed their hitchhiking trip around the world; together the four of them thumbed it back to Auburn. As the sun sets on this happy group, we all agree that we had so much fun that we'll have another reunion in twenty-five years. 115 116 Our magic moments fade to memory, And this enchanted evening now is o 'er — But all our joy and happiness will be Enshrined within this “Keepsake evermore. In years to come, how fondly we’ll relive These happy days with those whom time now parts, Teachers, friends, and classmates — all whose names Are written on these pages, and on our hearts! 117 Awards B.
