Pep Club Spirit Encourages Teams The AHS Pep Club had an active year boosting the spirits of AHS. Sponsoring homecoming, making posters and participating in pep rallies all contributed to the Pep Club's common goal of encouraging positive attitudes among the student body. In February, a recognition tea was held for the seniors, and the year was concluded with a banquet held at Wheeler Inn. High-point winners were: Stacy Bratcher, Kim Kieler, Sandy Knipplem-eyer, and Kim Birdsley — Overall winner: Kim Kieler. 20

s Cheerleaders Uphold Tradition of Success The AHS Cheerleaders started the year off right by successfully completing NCA Cheerleading camp in June. They received 3 superior ribbons, one excellent ribbon and brought home the most coveted NCA award, the spirit stick. They achieved super squad status and also finished as a top squad finalist in the Award of Excellence competition. In November, the varsity squad also competed in the NCA Regionals. Throughout the year they generated spirit at AHS with cheers, chants and routines. Above all, they worked hard to support the athletic teams of AHS. CLOCKWISE FROM BELOW: 1.
