Practice is always fun tor Jody Allgood, Chris Pippert, Amy Lewel-len, Steve Bath, and Lynne McKnight. Riverside Junction had a school year to “Celebrate” in 1982-83. They finished first in the Peru State Contest and third at the four state Northwest Missouri State Contest. Capping the year, was a I rating at District Music Contest. This was the first year swing choir was a separate class. The experiment seemed to work as it is part of next year’s curriculum. Students taking vocal music in the 1982-1983 school year found that choir offered much more than an occasional study hall. It gave students a chance to become familiar with many different types of music, and it gave them a chance to discover talents he or she may not have known they had.
