Bulldogs show way to Sesame Street Despite a Friday the 13th date for homecoming, spirit remained high for the annual event. The marching band led the parade downtown for a rally on the post office lawn. The juniors received the inches of spirit award, and Dale Thomas, class of '78, was guest speaker. Halls were decorated by the classes and were judged by faculty on art work and application of the homecoming theme Sesame Street. Juniors won first place with seniors taking second. Although the Waverly Vikings claimed a (39-13) victory over the Auburn Bulldogs, the homecoming festivities carried on. At halftime, Deirdre Fike was crowned queen. Jerry Whisler was crowned king at the homecoming dance. CLOCKWISE FROM TOP OF PACE: 1. AHS students Lorrie Curnes, Jeff Jones, Lori Kimball, Rhett McMichen, and Kelly Knippelmier disco to disc jockey Jimmy O'Niell's records. 2. The comedy team Mark and Milty, winners of the pep rally gong show, highlight the homecoming rally. 3. Homecoming hall decorations tie the team and coach Birdsley into the Sesame Street theme. 4.
