Duet, one-act play to state for AHS The duet acting and one-act play casts earned trips to the state speech contests in Kearney by receiving superior rankings from the judges at districts. Paul Crotty, Lori Kimball, Allison Oestmann, and Mark Sandau composed the one-act cast with Lori named best actress by the Peru state college judges. The duet acting entry with Dale Thomas and Lori Kimball took fourth place in class A at state competition. The speech contest season opened with conference competition at Nebr. City. Winners were: prose, Paul Crotty; poetry, Allison Oestmann; oral interpretation of drama, Paul Crotty, Saundra Holland, Ann Obermeyer, and Mark Sandau. Others who competed were: Susan Haynes, Andrea Leslie, Michele Sandau, and Milton Vandevort. 28 Speech contest

Spring play cast presents first farce For the first time, the AHS drama department presented a farce for the spring play. The play, See How They Run , was in three acts and contained all the elements of a farce: fast-moving action, confusion, and mistaken identities. Mr. Jeff Falter directed the play; Michele Sandau was stage manager; and Janie Kampe and Carolyn Hemmingsen were the lighting crew. Members of the cast included Paul Crotty, Mike Eash, Saundra Holland, Ben Jones, Lori Kimball, Allison Oestmann, Russ Pasco, Mark Sandau, and Dale Thomas. 1. Lori Kimball and Mark Sandau, explain “how it all began to Dale Thomas, Allison Oestmann and Paul Crotty. 2. Russ Pasco has just realized that Mark Sandau is an imposter. 3. Lori Kimball tries to brush off Saundra Holland, so she can have a word with her maid, Allison Oestmann. 4.
