Awards, party end Pep Club's season A slumber party complete with sleeping bags, records, and snacks concluded the year for the pep club. The evening of March 25, 55 girls huddled in pajamas, robes, or jeans for the award presentations. Awards were given for the highest number of points accumulatd throughout the sports activity seasons. With 511 points, sophomore Jana Broady received the award for accumulating the highest number of points overall. Freshman Monica Sherman, sophomore Patty Byfield, junior Saundra Holland, and senior Debbie Stemper received awards for their work in their individual classes. Throughout the year, pep club also sponsored other activities. For instance, the homecoming festivities, cake raffles, and pep rallies. Kansas City trip Makes A-club year A-club, sponsored by Ted Russ, highlighted the year by attending the Kansas City Chief-Pittsburg Steeler football game in November. The trip was made possible by a key chain sale. The club sold 100 key chains at 50 cents each. They also raised money for future events by operating the concession stand at several home games. A-club, as in the past, provided roses for this year's homecoming queen and the king was a member of the club.
