Charlie Brown at Bulldog homecoming Homecoming eve at AHS produced the madness of finishing the decorating and preparations. After the adorning was completed, homecoming had started. October 15, despite windiness and a broken loud speaker, the pep rally got the enthusiasm rolling. The sophomores won the inches of spirit contest. Not to be outdone by underclassmen the juniors won the hall decorating contest for their artwork, and application of the theme Charlie Brown. Speeches were given by Coach Richard Birdsley, co-captains Steve Cole and Mike Liewer, and Auburn's announcer Neal Thomas. The bulldogs were the victors in a 21-15 game over Waverly. Cindy Bergmann was crowned queen during the half time festivities. Cindy later crowned Steve Cole as king during the intermission of the dance. 24
