Paul Ramp - Instrumental Frances Rarick - language Arts Marcia Reeves - Commercial CLOCKWISE STARTING ABOVE ‘Mrs. Loew addresses class concerning a homework assignment- ‘Vicki Vollertsen, Judy Vosberg, and Mrs. Trayer, concentrate on Spanish papers during 50's day. school year initiates music instructors Auburn's music department is instructed by two new teachers: Paul Ramp, instrumental, and Mike Zimmerman, vocal. Mr. Ramp previously taught in the Auburn School system two years at the middle school, as well as the high school stage band. Mr. Zimmerman graduated from Dana College in 1974. The two instructors worked jointly in the 1974-75 school year preparing for concerts and the district music contest. One of the main joint projects was a concert which featured a medley of songs called the Saga of Western America. The students, digressing from the tradition of wearing robes, dressed in costumes appropriate to the era depicted by the concert. Saloon girls, cowboys, and school marms were among the types of people portrayed. This change in custom was a refreshing experience for both the choir members and the audience. 13

drama classes use video tape to film The only way to learn about media is to use it. No one can learn about the media by reading out of a book. Jeff Falter English teacher, feels every student should have the chance to do some type of acting. His drama class wrote a script for a ten minute sketch which was based on the show Star Trek , which they called, Spaced Out. The purpose of the film was to aid students in the use of visual material. Besides drama, the language arts department offers a wide variety of subjects. Additional offerings include Spanish I, II and III, three levels of practical English, plus American literature, advanced composition, British literature, literature of the Midwest, vocabulary, and many others.
