AHS Band Led By New Director Band officers: Doug Crotty, Vlce-Pres.; Lambert Stiers, Pres.; Dennis Winlnger, Stu. Co.; Debbie Ebler, Sec.; Elaine Walker, Treas. To begin this year's band activities the band marched at the Nemaha County Fair under the direction of the new band director, Mr. Dahmke. They also performed at the Apple-Jack Festival at Nebraska City and at the Richardson County Fair at Humboldt. When the band marched at the Plattsmouth Invitational Marching Contest they earned a one rating and a trophy. They also won the Class A division in the competition at Peru State College Homecoming. Pep Band played for all home football and basketball games. The Soul Steppers performed at the Aksarben Tourney at Millard and performed on T.V. at the State Class B and C Basketball Finals at Lincoln. The band also had a Mid-Winter and Spring Concert. At District Music Contest the Brass Quartet and Flute Duet received a superior rating and the concert band received an excellent rating. Janet Genoa lead the band as drum majorette. Barb Sullivan was captain and Denise Elliott was co-captain of the Soul Steppers . 22
