They worked steadily in promoting an interest in the literature, history, and culture of the French people. Also they are tyring to further international relations by corresponding regularly with a friend in France and by making efforts to travel to France. For an activity they went to Omaha and dined in a French restaurant. 8

Spanish Club Plans Trip to Mexico Miss Graesser hands Michele Sierks part of her allotment of light bulbs, sold as a money-making project for the trip to Mexico. The AHS Spanish Club, Los Conquista-dores, enjoyed various activities throughout the year. Speakers at regular meetings included Dr. Robert P. Jachmans, director of the Modern Language League; and Mr. Clyde Howell, a teacher at Middle School. Club Activities included seeing Man of LaMancha in Omaha, a Christmas party, and a banquet at the end of the year. Bake sales and other moneymaking projects helped to finance a trip to Mexico in June. Sponsors for the club were Mrs. Hilda Hector (first semester) and Miss Marie Graesser (second semester). 10
