Anne Nincehelser, Debbie Student Council Takes Initiative to Sponsor Activities The Studenl Council this year was made up of two representatives trom each class and one representative from each organization. President Tom Welch and Secretary Barbie Sullivan were chosen last year at the Student Council’s Banquet. Vice President Laurie Vosberg and Treasurer Jodi Erisman were chosen from the newly organized Student Council this year. The Student Council sponsored grub days. Teacher Appreciation Day. Parent-Teacher Day, Freshman Initiation, and a day-oft raffle. Another money-making project was to sell Back the Bulldog buttons. Barbie Sullivan was a candidate for Treasurer at the 20th annual convention of the Nebraska Association of Student Councils held at North Platte in November. Council members attending were Jodi Erisman. Tom Welch, Barbie Sullivan. Debbie Clifton, and Bruce Schneider. The Student Council’s final activities were awarding a SI00 scholarship to a graduating senior, and eating out at Nebraska City. Tom Welch escorts Mr. Coatney to her teacher conference. 8

Not pictured: Cynthia Sanders, Becky Pasco, Sally Allgood, Iris Holtzman. Library Club Visits Ralston Library With sponsor Mrs. Nixon and club officers. Pres. Susan Oestmann, Vice Pres. Iris Holtzman, Sec. Treas. Ramona Gebers, and S.A.B. David Fisher, the club participated in several events during the school year. The club was rewarded for their efforts by a trip to Ralston High School. There the members visited the library to get new ideas for their own library. Later in the day they visited the Westroads for shopping, dinner, and a movie. In September the club sponsored a picnic to interest new members. Ann Magor, Lois Overbeck, and Valerie Coatney attended a Librarians Convention at Sutton, Nebraska in October. In November the club hosted a book fair which was held in the upper halls of the school. Sheila Wolfe and Chris Berger use the library as a resource center for education and enjoyment. 10
