Washington, D.C. — The Alpha Beta Gamma Science and Math Club composed of 76 members, promoted interest in the fields of math and science. Such topics as psychology, nuclear plants, and embalming were covered at regular meetings. Club activities included educational tours of Truman Library, Ford Motor Company, Creighton University, Joslyn Art Museum, and E Day at the University of Nebraska. The major money-making project of the year was the club-sponsored food stand at the Nemaha County Fair. Other projects--candy and bake sales, soup supper, and a slave auction helped finance the educational trip to Washington in June. Ronald Hedkett and Lynn Rogge qualified for the club scholarships. Each received a $100 award. Mark Oestmann received the Bausch-Lomb Honorary Award. Jerry Damme is sold to the highest bidder at the fund-raising slave auction. 24

Checking out books is one of student li- The book fair gives Jay Holtzman practice in salesmanship, brarian Betty Leslie's duties. Book Fair Hosted By Library Club Under the sponsorship of the new librarian Mrs. Nixon the Library Club witnessed an active year. Club members enjoyed a picnic at the beginning of the year. The officers and Mrs. Nixon attended the State Student Librarians Convention at Papillion in October. The Library Club hosted a book fair in November. Books were on display in the hall. Approximately 150 books were sold. A field trip in March found the club touring the Mission Junior High School Library in Bellevue.
