Nine juniors from Auburn High School participated in County Government Day, sponsored by the American Legion and Auxiliary, at the Nemaha County Courthouse on October 24, 1967. Students filed certificates of election and oaths of office following registration; then they met with their respective county officials for study of their duties. Later an orientation session was held in the district courtroom where students were sworn into office. A short program was held for all delegates before adjournment. State Senator Calista Hughes was the luncheon speaker at Arbor Manor. Rev. Gordon Patterson gave the invocation at the annual affair. Mark Hahn learns duties of County Attorney.
