BOARD OF EDUCATION The Board of Education is the publicly elected body which governs the schools of our district. The six members meet on the first Monday of each month in the Superintendent's office at the high school. Their principal duties are the hiring of the Superintendent of Schools, the approving of the school calendar, and the planning of the school budget, their biggest problem. They have been members of the Nebraska State School Boards Association for three years and for three years have been members of the National School Boards Association. The two ex-officio members are Harvey Bergmann, Treasurer; and Ross L. Speece, Secretary. Auburn High School and the whole community owe a debt of gratitude to the Board of Education for the fine work and unselfish hours they have given to make our schools better.
