GRADUA TION EXERCISES BACCALAUREATE Baccalaureate Services were held on May 24 for the fifty-five 1964 graduates. Miss Wilda King played Pomp and Circumstance for the Processional. Reverend Tim B. Nelson gave the invocation and read the scripture, Ephesians 3:1-21. Diana Oestmann presented a solo accompanied by Cathy Pohlman. Reverend Frank E. Zimmerman delivered the sermon, Finding the Abundant Life which inspired the seniors to live each day to its fullest. The Seventy-fifth Commencement exercises of Auburn High School were held on May 26. Following the Processional, played by the high school band, Sharen Shur gave the invocation. Larry McLain presented a comet solo accompanied by Rosangie Wirth. Following this, a vocal number, O God Creator Blest, was presented by a Senior Ensemble, accompanied by Diana Oestmann. Superintendent Ross L. Speece presented the awards and scholarships. The Regents Alternates were: Jackie Joy, Larry McLain, Ron Majors, Gary Obermeyer, Diane Oestmann, Cathy Pohlman, Floyd Pohlman, and Jack Sheely. Recognition for the Honors Program at the University of Nebraska was given to Larry McLain and Ron Majors. Arnold Teten received the Peru State College cooperation student teacher program grant. Diana Oestmann received the Business and Professional Women Scholarship, the Midland College Presidents Scholarship, the Midland Scholarship, and the Lutheran Brotherhood grant, Gary Obermeyer received the Kiwanis Scholarship. Steve Bohling received the Dana College Regents Scholarship, the Baush Lomb Science award, and was the University of Nebraska Regents Winner. Ron Majors received the Ralph Darling Memorial Rotary Scholarship and the Alpha Beta Gamma Math and Science Scholarship. Principal Glenn E. Knight presented the Class of 1964. Eugene J. Ely, School Board President, presented the diplomas. Sharen Suhr gave the benediction to close the Commencement Exercises for the Class of 1964. 47
