OUR TWENTIETH REUNl0N O 'Tis a balmy evening in june, 1973, and the gym of good old Auburn High is gaily decorated with twisting luminous streamers of all the colors of the rainbow. What is the gala occasion? We soon shall see. Who is the lovely matron just entering with the four-star general? Oh, that is Ruth Schrader, who has become a noted dramatic actress. You know her husband has risen to be a general, and she is the famous actress now who won an Oscar last year in Hollywood. Here comes Peg Seigfried, who has become quite a business lady. She is proprietress of an exclus- ive What Not shop in New York City. If you want some rare trinket from a far-off land, just visit Peggy's What N0ts, and you'll be able to find something to suit your taste. I see she has her husband and two children with her. A prosperous gentleman is just coming through the doorway. lt's good old Henry Trumbo, the best architect in the state. If you want to build a house that really is a house, just get Henry as your contractor. You can get in touch with him at his modern new office building in Philadelphia. Natur- ally, he planned this one hundred fifty story building himself. What a slim and graceful little lady is coming in that other door! It's none other than our live- wire, Shirley Seiler. She's married to a college professor, and she is a dancing instructor in the same school as well as the secretary in their office. If anybody can teach an awkward young lady or gen- tleman how to be graceful, Shirley can. Oh, here comes Jean Moyer! Remember what a quiet little girl she was. VVell, she has really gotten somewhere, she's become a medical secretary to a leading doctor in Pittsburgh. She's doing a fine and useful job in his office. I see a tall, dark-haired, and distinguished-looking gentleman with his gracious and elegant wife. Accompanying them are their twin boys. It is none other than Ken Klinger, New York's finest and most modern mortician. Ken really made a study of the mortuary science. He has developed a new embalming fluid that will make the corpse wake up and be alive again after one thousand years. Just think what our reunion will be like in more than one thousand years, if we all get treated with his new invention! In has spare time, Ken designs men's fashions for the large Eastern Division of Clipper Craft Clothes. Now a jolly matron is coming in. She's a short lady followed by a tall, handsome husband and eight children of assorted sizes. It's our dear old friend, Athena Fryer. She not only gives her large family the best of care, but she's an active worker in the civic organizations of her town. She was voted The Best lblother of l972. A most fashionable, sylph-like lovely matron is gracefully moving through the doorway. It's Con- nie Rudy, the most noted designer of women's clothing on our continent. She's really an expert in creating beauty in women's dresses, since she learned the art in Paris. Here comes the ninth member of our old gang, Charles Zechman. VVith him is his dainty and lovely little auburn-haired wife and their auburn-haired triplet girls. Charles met this charming young lady on one of his rocket trips. Charles has become a nationally known research physicist and inventor. He is now the owner of Ulnterplanetary Rocket Lines. He'll take you any place, any time. Rockets leave his rocket port every hour on the hour. As pastime, Charles operates a large hatchery and poul- try-breeding farm. Now that our noteworthy class members are all assembled, we will proceed with our anniversary banquet and festivities of the occasion.

CLASS HISTORY Let us turn back the pages of time and see what the years in Auburn High recall to our memories. FRESHMAN YEAR In September, 1949, as we entered the Freshman Class, there were nine boys and nine girls in our group. At our first class meeting, on September 14, we elected the following officers: President .... ................ KENNETH KLINCER Treasurer.... .... . ................,.. SHIRLEY SEILER Vice-President ................... JACQUELYN KRAMER Class Reporter ...................... . RUTH SCHRADER Secretary ................. ....... M ARGARET SEIGERIED Class H1J10f1dn..... .... CoNsTANcE RUDY Mr. John Kopenhaver was our class adviser this year. While we were Freshmen, Mr. Krauss took our class to Pottsville to visit the Court House, the County Jail, the City Hall, and the Pottsville Journal office. A party was held by our class during this year, and we participated in various school activities. We regretted losing Donald Breiner, Fred Long, June Fidler, and Margaret Leymeister during our Freshman year. SOPHOMORE YEAR At last we were Sophomoresg Freshmen were mere children! At our first class meeting on Septem- ber 13, 1950, we elected the following officers: President.. ...... . ..................... SHIRLEY SEILER Treasurer. ........ .... C HARLES ZECHMAN Vice-President ................... MARGARET SEIGFRIED Class Reporter ...... .... K ENNETH KLINGER Serretary ............ ................... J EAN MOYER Class Historian ............. . ........ HENRY TRUMBO Mrs. Doris L. Hummel became our class adviser this year. A class party was held again this yearg and to earn money toward our Washington trip, we sold candy and pretzel sticks, sold Christmas wreaths, and held a bake sale. Two new students came into our class as Sophomores: Jean Moyer and Evelyn Weston. By the end of this year, We lost Bruce Edwards, Martha Minnich, and Jacquelyn Kramer from our class. We were glad to see June roll around and the prospect of another summer vacation before us. JUNIOR YEAR Here we are in September, 1951, with only two Inore years to go. It was time to elect officers again, and these were our choices: FIRST SEMESTER SECOND SEMESTER President ................,........ KENNETH KLINGER President ............................ SHIRLEY SEILER Vice-President. ....................... SHIRLEY SEILER Vice-President ................... MARGARET SEIGFRIED Secretary .,...... .. MARGARET SEIGERIEIJ Serretary. ....... .... C ONSTANCE RUDY Treasurer. ...... .... C HARLES ZECHMAN Treasurer. ........ .. CHARLES ZECHMAN Class Reporter .................... RUTH SCHRADER Class Reporter ...... ..... A THENA FRYER Class Historian ...................... HENRY TRU1vIso Class Historian ..... .......... RUTH Sci-IRADER Mrs. Doris L. Hummel is again our adviser. We were busy again this year earning money to go to Washington. We held two very successful bake sales, sold Christmas wreaths, and Marooii and Gold pencils, and we also sold magazine subscrip- tions with the Seniors. We thought we had a very busy time this year. We regretted losing Evelyn Weston, Lloyd Kerschner, Kenneth Steffy, and Charles Steffy from our class by the time our Junior year was finished. At last June rolled around again, and we thought, Only one more year! SENIOR YEAR September, 1952! We're Seniors! What a wonderful feeling that wasp but we soon found out there was plenty of work connected with being a Senior. There were only nine of us left theng and at our first class meeting we elected the following officers: President. ............................ SHIRLEY SEILER Treasurer. ........ .. CHARLES ZECHMAN Vue-President ................... MARGARET SEIGFRIED Class Reporter .... .... C ONSTANCE Rum' Seeretary ......... . ..,.................. JEAN MOYER Class Historian ...................... RUTH SCHRADER Mrs. Doris L. Hummel remained our class adviser. We really worked hard making money this year. First, we spent weeks going all over town and places near Auburn selling Christmas cardsg then, along with the juniors, we sold magazine subscrip- tions. In November, we very successfully produced Our Gal Salf' with the nine members of our class in the cast. We were still selling some of our Maroon and Gold pencils, and we sold a few Easter cards. All of our class members participated in the many activities of Auburn High. However, our one big job was getting the material ready for our yearbookg getting the ads to help to pay for it was such time-consuming work. However, we all enjoyed working toward one goal, graduation. During the second semester, we enjoyed planning and decorating for our Senior Ball. Everyone enjoyed the lovely music and the beautifully decorated gym. The climax of our whole year's activities was our trip to Washington in May. We saw so many points of interest and had such a good time, that We shall long remember this pilgrimage. As Seniors, we realize that in our four years at Auburn High, we have been greatly benefited by our scholastic, athletic, and social achievements. As we leave Auburn High School, we look to the future with assurance of attaining success because of the careful guidance and thoughtful understand- ing of our faculty. As we bid farewell to our Alma Mater, may we express our gratitude for the part it has played in the development of our education..
