,f Administrator's Messages to the Class of '59 Your high school graduation is an important marker on the path of Time, but it certainly is not a stopping place. The Spanish writer Cer- vantes reminds us that The road is always bet- ter than the inn. The iourney which has led you to this point should have prepared you for the road you will travel tomorrow. You have been given the necessary tools, and, if you have learned to think for yourself, to enioy the chal- lenge of knowledge to be gained, to live and work 'with people-the iourney has been well spent. Graduation, like an inn, is a place on the road from which you can look backward with pride and forward with determination to some new and better endeavor. Hayes Holman Superintendent --A-ua' '-J-is' - Life is likened to a iourney. Like any journey there are many hills, curves, and branches. Each hill must be surmounted before one can see what lies beyond. Such is life also. After climbing to the top of one hill it is easy to relax and coast to the bottom and there re- main. ln life one must put forth added effort to continue climbing for greater heights. On a journey, as in life, one is confronted with many choices of paths to follow. To choose properly one must use all of the past experience one may possess. Each high school student has been helped to gain the experience that will help in making the decisions the lead to a suc- cessful life iourney. Graduation is the day which appears as the top of a giant hill. lt has been surmounted but now it is found there are many branches from which one must select the proper road for the future. You as the class of 1959 have been helped by your experiences at Auburn Senior High in choosing paths that will be of service to you and to mankind. Best wishes to all of you for each and every mile you travel from here. C. V. Hostetter Principal 1 t .J
