ra UR i i mf A drawing from a 1904 Auburn yearbook shows the academy that was used as our first high school. honoring the past The first building used for a high school in Auburn was built in 1858 where the Eckhart Public Library now stands. Twenty years later a new building was: built and served as a high school until it was converted to a junior high in 1920. This building, torn down in 1956 was replaced by the McKenney Junior High School at the same loca- tion. The McIntosh High School building with which we are most familiar was completed and ready for use in 1920. Since 1960, extensive remodeling has brought us language and science labs, a chorus and band room, a shop, and a library. Now Auburn High School ends its 111th year by graduating the Class of 1967. The last Follies honors the memory of AHS while anticipating progress to come. The purpose of the Follies of 1967 has been to record the events of a year of transition: a year of honoring the past and building for the future. eno ee eer ‘decciiaanantanertiaetatinaiaiiatinutmmuiiie toe omnes Known by many students as the “old junior high,” this building was occupied by high school students from 1876-1920. Posing for its last Follies photograph, McIntosh High School observes the departure of the final AHS student body.
