Cindy Fahl and Mr. Thomas are having quite a lengthy dis- cussion about colleges. Mr. Thomas is trying to help Cindy de- cide on what college to attend and what courses she should take. Mrs. LaVerne Ailman and Mrs. Bertha Woodcox inaugurated the Individualized Instruction Program at the beginning of the second semester. GUIDANCE AIDS FUTURE HTINESS It is envisioned through the individualized instruction program that the instruction in the basic academic subjects will be brought down to the ability level of each educationally deprived student. It is anticipated that this individualized attention and experience of success will improve the self-image of these students as worthwhile citizens of the community. Math and English are areas of high concentration. Individual counseling is offered to help students im- prove self-understanding, discuss educational and vocational plans and meet the day-to-day personal and social demands in the home, school, and com- munity. The physical education department’s gymnastics pro- gram was expanded this year with the addition of two major pieces of equipment. Some students took advantage of a new tumbling belt to improve hand- springs while others used it to learn advanced skills on the trampoline. The balance beam presented girls with the unique challenge of performing gracefully on a narrow beam four feet above the floor. 27 have new. aids.
