At last the doors were flung open and we marched in timidly yet proudly. We listened attentively to all the rules and regulations and were then assigned to home rooms A few weeks later we wer guests of honor at the Freshman Reception at which we pledged allegiance to th upperclassmen and were fully initiated into the rituals of Auburn High Later in the fall Mr Hatfield was assigned as our Class Advisor and we immediately held a class meeting We elected the following officers to lead us through the trials of our first year President Iohn Sturrock Vice President Geraldine Wolcott Treasurer William Robbie and Secretary Barbara Muhlfriedel Cur class colors were to be red and white ln the spring of the year we put on a talent show in assem bly All the talent of the class was displayed and it was a great success The next September we entered school with more confidence for now we were Sophomores At our first class meeting we elected the following officers President Iohn Sturrock V1cePres1dent Geraldine Wolcott Treasurer Wyman Thomas and Secretary Beverly Gruber Many of our classmates both boys and girls were now taking an active part in sports and all showed great promise Near the end of the year we planned a class outing wlth the aid of our advisor Mr Hatfield The class went to Camp Gleason for an after noon and returned to the auditorium in the evening for dancing A large number attended and it was enioyed by all Everyone especially enioyed the exhibition of the hula hula dance glven by Shirley Niddrie Soon our Sopho more year came to a close and we were looking forward to bemg upper classmen The summer flew by and at last we were upperclassmen We began our school activities eagerly this year for there was a lot to be done First we elected our class officers as follows President Wyman Thomas Vice President Beverly Gruber Treasurer Milton Landin and Secretary Ianet Roy Then a committee was elected to select our class rings and we soon knew the pleasure of wearing tl em ln tne midst of our activities we lost our advisor Mr Hatfield who became an Ensign in the Navy Mr Goodnow became our next advisor so we went confidently on with our plan Our play The Bashful Bachelor was a great success and was well deserving of all the praise it received Near the end of the year we held our lunior Prom which was as successful as had been the play For our class outing we went to Whalom Park Although on the roller coaster twelve times in succession At long last we were Seniors 'We had thought we would be more grown up and maybe a little wi er but we v ere mv t rken ln fact many of us still acted like freshmen This ye r we chose Mi ton Landin President lane-t Roy Vice President Harry Barker Treasu er o id Helenmarie Peterson Secretary Our first event was the olay ne s a S ldiers Sweetheart lt was a great 'I' 'Fi' 'E' 'Bi H193 25 . , e i ' , ' ' , e , : ' - ' , ' : , : ' , 1 ' ' ' , ' J , I ' , 2 ' - ' , ' Y ' 4 I 1 I I W A v v A Q ll IA S- - , I it rained all day, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, especially those who rode , . . .
