With the exception of Raymond, O'Shea, Harmon, Poulin, and Ericson die entire squad was inexperienced. The second gamewithleicester was lostwithminutes to go l5-7. During the next three gamesShrewsbury, Uxbridgeand Holden were played. These three schools were enjoyingmostsuccessfulseasonsand Auburn lost to all by one sided scores. Then Auburn eked out a win over Grafton by a score of 7-O. In the final game against Millbury, the Auburn boys sparked by co-captains Raymond and O'Shea and half-back Paquette threatened to score onseveral occasions but could not push across the final line. Eventually Millbury emerged victorious by a score of 7-O. Co-captains Raymond and O'Shea were courageous and patient leaders ofa lighter and limited squad ofboys and will be remembered for the persistent efforts with the odds against them. In comparison with the previous season, the 1941 record was a dismal one. However, four ofthe games, against Westboro, Leicester, Grafton and Millbury, were very even battles. The three losses to Shrewsbury, Uxbridgeand Holden were due to the definite superiority revealed by their players.
