Worship services—what sets our school apart from the rest. It makes us unique in the fact that we are a church sponsored school. We have several different worship services. One of them is every night at 7:30. This is just to wind up the day and prepare us for study hall. The dean’s have also found it’s a very good time for them to make their announcements. On Friday nights you’ll find us over at the church for Vespers. Usually during this worship service we have a guest speaker or even faculty give a talk. It’s just a relaxing way to begin the Sabbath each week. Worship Services

Week-of-Prayer has come and gone, but not without leaving behind an important message and an even more important impres¬ sion on the students. The talks went well until Tuesday morning when Shelly Nyseth was interrupted by the fire alarm. The ceiling in the chapel had caught fire when some wires shorted out. Friday night, Andrew McPherson gave an excellent talk followed by an alter call. More than 99 % of the people present went forward to give their lives to Jesus or to just recommit themselves. A. A Pastor Nelson baptizing Shelly Lambuth. ► The man behing the scenes, Rich Tyler runs the PA system. Then there’s church where Pastor Nelson, new as of this year, gives an interesting sermon which most people seem to enjoy. The best part though, comes at the end. The time when Pastor Nelson sings a song written by himself and plays the piano along with it. M Giving Scripture, Jay Lyman helps out with the weekend services. ▼ Leading out in song service are Trisha Jaramio, Cynthia Armstrong and Julie Sanders. Last but not least, after church—around 3:30 or 4:00 in the after- noon-we have MV in the Dower Chapel. Nobody’s really sure why we have it, but it does break the monotony of the afternoon. During this time we usually have a film although this year they’ve been a little more creative by inviting guest speakers and having different activities where the students actually get involved. All in all, the worship services have contributed to Auburn Ad¬ v entist Academy and helped to make the students who they are and who they will be in the future.
