Table of Contents One takes from life what he puts into it. Life is a complex mixture of what one sees, what he does, and what he feels. Nature 4 Auburn Academy strives to supply those things which develop not only the mind and the strength, but also the soul. Its campus curriculum and at¬ mosphere emphasize concern for the development of ,r the head, heart, and hand. ’’ Surrounding Auburn’s campus are some of God’s most beautiful works. Wherever one looks there is NATURE in all its grandeur, from the flower by the walk, to the mountain that reaches heaven¬ ward. 6 The study of God’s REVELATION to man is an in¬ tegral facet of the school’s activities, curriculum and atmosphere. This year 400 students have come to Auburn Acad¬ emy where NATURE and REVELATION unite in EDUCATION. VanTassel, driver, was one of the few men privileged to accompany the maidens of Zeta Kappa to Sunset Lake. Yes, it has been a long weekend, Miss Bradley! Handling greased watermelons added to the fun. Kelly Bock is being pursued by Ken Pierson. Water skiing was the main event. The water or the weather 52 Miss Frances McKnight was the knight-cap of the evening as she literally brought the house clown with a hearty good-knight. It’ll play when I learn to get into it, was Mr. Bob Farver’s con¬ clusion, as he experienced the trials of a tuba player with a too- small tube, or was it a too-big player ? Oh, what a tangled story we weave when first we practice to mispronounce! Miss Rose¬ mary Bradley kept the audience bewildered with her story of Cillendrella. Faculty Perforin With music straight from over (or was it from under?) the Rhine, the German Band, comprised of, Mr. Leland Quinn, Mr. James Hanson, Mr. Cliff Hayes, Mr. Wes Parker, and Mr. Harold Weir, demonstrat¬ ed what faculty can accomplish. 53 Amateur Hour As Marcia Baker recited My Big- Sister Millicent fond memories of childhood came to the minds of many in the audience. AskKaryl Whitney! 55 With Christmas all around, Santa Claus (Mrs. Crays) and Terry Treibel (ZK President) play the role in spreading Christmas cheer. Foreground: Sherrie Shull, Judy Peters, Jennifer Penfold, and Elaine Carver. A Merry Christmas was extended by both clubs in the exchange of gifts. Del Griebel, President; and fellow Casa Loma members receive Zeta Kappa ' s present. Entreat me not to leave thee. Shown in a scene from Ruth are Kaye Zachri- son, LaDeane Simmons, and Carol Cooper. At a joint-club Valentine party, couples were pitted against each other as they discovered how much or how little they knew about their other half. In intense concentration are Rene ' e Montgom¬ ery, Dave Rhynard, Kelly Bock (CL President); Arlee Trichia, and Asta Sakai a Outgoing ZI President, Terry Treibel; and CL President, Del Griebel; look solemn as they prepare to give up their offices. Dorm Clubs Stimulate School Spirit Little Women, Nancy Loewe, Lucy Baker, Laura Dalgleish, and Rene Rebisch add a touch of the classic to the Hour of Enchantment. The greatest American woman of all, the Statue of Liberty, is depicted by Delores Bolyard in Zeta Kappa ' s program of the year. The Faculty-Senior Reception was a progressive house-to-faculty house party, filled with food, seniors, and surprises. The Junior-Senior banquet of 1966, featuring the charm of a Southern Serenade, was a night not soon to be forgotten. Skool Daze with Rosie Bradley, LeRoy Weber, Leland Quinn, Bessie Soule, Willy Lowe, Eddie Norton, and Squee Berry revealed the faculty as they once were. Faculty and Juniors Entertain Seniors Monty McCoy, Connie Davis, Kandy Crawford, and Paul Ackerman were at the punch bowl and chandelier enjoying the elegance and splendor of the old South. The rich, full, and thrilling voice of Mr. Robert Delafield with Mr. Victor Smiley at the piano, kept the banqueteers entranced. Spring brings flowers, but it also brings many baseball players. Larry Crooker, Doug Gust, and Steve Kreu- ger experience the fun of a free afternoon. Rain or shine, tennis must go on. Dennis Rootvik, Con¬ nie Davis, Ken Bariel, and Brenda Barnhart will tell you that there ' s nothing like it! 59 Connie McClannahan and Val Dwyer, prepare with Mr. Mummert and Linda Larson, for the jump in another grueling girls ' game of basket¬ ball during PE class. recrert idn BELOW: Tense and ready, Larry Aberle, Jim Miller, Goral La- Porte, and Kelly Bock wait for Jim Thompson ' s free shot, while Mr. Rowe referees during one of the exciting Junior-Senior games. For Walla Walla College it began filtering through the hourglass in 1892 when in one lone u n f n i s d building a handful of teachers and students gathered on a bleak December day. With the running of the sands of time the intervening years have become Yesterday. The sands run swiftly and soon Tomorrow will be Today. Now, 1966, at Walla Walla College modern buildings, fine equipment and facilities, and an accredited faculty call you to a Christian College. But none of these can halt the sands of time. KIRKMAN ARCHITECT ...It’s Farewell As another school year closes and the time of graduation and departure draws near, the faces of friends display the mixed emotions of unsurpassed joy and nostalgic sadness. With much to look back upon, but much more to look forward to, they leave. With them they take a part of their school, their friends, their teachers. Each leaves a place to be filled by another, but not quite. They remember all the good, the enriching, the happy times, which far outweigh all others. And from these times they build and grow, to develop a life of loving service and meaningful achievements.
