MR. ROBERT FARVER Mr. Farver, himself president of the ' Two- Hundred Pound Club ' encourages many new members by providing rich milk and delicious ice cream produced at the Academy Dairy. Early hours, fresh air, and lots of hard work each contribute to a well-rounded educational program for the boys who work down on the farm. MR. DONALD WERTZ MR. EUGENE WESSLEN Dirt on the hands, grease on the overalls, and oil on the face are often the lot of these men as they work to keep our school warm and in good repair. As text books are laid aside, thirty boys learn the important qualities of efficiency, industry and dependability as they assist these men in their important work. MRS. RONALD REED MRS. LEWIS BANEK In the laundry where sheets are counted by the hundreds, and towels by the thou¬ sands, a variety of tasks are provided for 24 students as the mountains of soiled clothes are laundered each week. 17

DOROTHY DONAHEY Behind the nourishing and delicious food prepared each day go long hours of back-breaking work for these dedicated women. Preparing three meals a day for 300 hungry students is a vital responsi¬ bility. A balance of work, play, study, and wholesome food is the formula for the successful, happy student at Auburn Academy. MRS. VERNON BERRY MRS. EUGENE WESSLEN MRS. RAY LEADBETTER Vitamins, treatments, and sound advice are the elements used by Mrs. Berry to fulfill the challenge of keeping 350 teenagers healthy and happy. Mrs. Wess- len and Mrs. Leadbetter promote our future welfare by teaching classes in physical education and health principles. MRS. CLEO LILE MRS. BESSIE SOULE MR. ED SPADY Valuable vocational training is offered in woodworking, metal shop, cooking, sew¬ ing, and textile painting. Interest is cre¬ ated and abilities developed as these teachers give instruction in the practical arts of daily living. 16

His reg¬ ular hourly rounds keep our campus safe and free of unwelcome guests. 18
