Text from Pages 1 - 90 of the 1951 volume:

Auburn Academy . . . 1950-51 Published by the ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF AUBURN ACADEMY 1951 Presented by GORDON HALE, Editor EDWARD WILSON, Business Mgr. 3n -Memoriam From the time of her birth at Laconner, Washington, through her childhood, her school days at Clear Lake Union Church School, to the campus of Auburn Academy, Sharon Koolmo ' s sunny disposition was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her constant ambition while attending church school was to attend Auburn Academy and then go on to college in preparation for nursing. Shortly before her tragic death, when asked if there was anything she wanted to say, she gave this beautiful testimony of steadfast courage and faith: I am not afraid—I am a Seventh-day Adventist . We will not soon forget the life of one who so greatly strengthened our own faith as did Sharon. Her work is finished, but ours is not. We who remain, who go forth from this school in service for God, may honor her in our lives by taking up the banner she so unfalter¬ ingly carried, and the world will not soon forget our commemoration. J dedication The person to whom this year ' s RAINIER VISTA is dedicated has won his place in our hearts because of our boundless confidence in his ability and will¬ ingness to help each student in his individual prob¬ lems. During his four years at Auburn Academy, we, as seniors, have enjoyed his thoroughly illustrated freshman biology, his stimulating sophomore alge¬ bra, his hilariously serious junior geometry, and his weighty but fascinating senior chemistry. We admire him for his versatility, his spon¬ taneity, and his sense of humor. We dedicate, as a token of our high esteem and appreciation, the 1951 RAINIER VISTA to Mr. Edgar Grundset. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Christ . It is the chief aim of Auburn Academy to direct youth to Christ, the true cornerstone. All of us missed Rick greatly when he left us. Not only did we appreciate his sincere friendship, but we remem¬ ber his generous help in decorating for Amateur Hour, his place among us as A. S. B. chaplain, and most of all, his fine example of Christian living. While we were sorry to see him leave, we greatly admire his courage and willingness to respond to the call of duty. We salute Rick Revel, representative of Auburn Academy with the United States Army. 3ir3t in Service RICK REVEL A leader in spiritual activities on the campus, Rick Revel was the first of our students to be called into service for his country.
