Blume, B. Franklin. The team won their opener against: Oakley to the tune of 7 to 6. The line played an outstanding game and saved the day when guards and tackles all rushed the converter to block the kick. The next two were not so good for the moral of the team or the coaches. Norton's inspired team played abrllllant game in their new stadium which was dedicated the night the Buffs were over- powered by the Blue Jays 26 to 0. The next one overshadowed even Nortons game as the League Champions, Colby, wolloped the Buffs 39 to 0. The Buffs played a hard game but were simply outpowered by the Eagles. Back in the winning column once again, Atwood beat the p f. Hoxle Indians on the ACHS gridiron. This was a lot harder game than the 14 to 0 A, v score indicated and once more the morale was high at Atwood. On October 27, 1 , the team journeyed 77 miles to defeat the Almena Coyotes 6 to 0. And then came a blg game for the Buffs as they were to meet the Oberlin Red Devils which hadn't been defeated by Atwood since 1939. But as the game ended Oberlin was de- feated by the score of 7 to 6. The next two games left Atwood on the short side a Goodland brought Atwood's winning streak to a close when the inspired Cowboys scored four touchdowns to Atwood's one. During the Annual Turkey Day game g K with St. Francis, who ranked among the top ten teams ln the state, Atwood played a brilliant first half p ball game with Sainty scoring one lone touchdown before the half. The second half saw At- wood's resources running out. The Indians took to a scoring rampage and the game wound up 33 to 0 intheir favor. Whenthe season closed Atwood came out with a 5th stand- ing in the league. Q'-w f ' - I ! Q Q ! . , 5 5 .
