Ya’ Hear On May 10, 1988 at approximately 7:30 p.m., seventeen seniors boarded a charter coach for an exciting trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Our thanks to chaperones Dean Lovell and Pat Emberton for making our trip a little more exciting. While in Gatlinburg we stayed at the Brookside Resort and enjoyed the pools and hot tub thoroughly. We also visited Pigeon Forge, Ober Gatlinburg, a ski resort, and many small shops that we explored while downtown. After two nights in Gatlinburg we went to Nashville and spent a restful night at the Hampton Inn. Our Days there were spent at the Country Music Hall of Fame, Recording Studio B, and, best of all, Opryland, U.S.A. A good time was had by all, but after four nights of excitement and little sleep, everyone was anxious to get back home. Top: Tricia, Sheila, and Michelle at Opryland. We weren’t quite sure what to expect, but after a little adjustment we fit in and felt at home. Our class officers were President Beth Corcoran, Vice President David Hug, Treasurer Kristin Hayford and Secretary Tracy Moseley. Tricia Smith and Wade Romine were chosen as Freshman attendants during Homecoming. The highlight of our Freshman year was getting our class rings. We began to raise money for Prom and our Senior trip. Our selling project was Cookie Pies. Our sponsors were Mr. Kearns and Mrs. Newlin. Sophomore — By our Sophomore year, we were comfortable with our place here. We were learning to intimidate the Freshmen. This year we elected Steve Wolter as President, Chris England as Vice President, Katrina Henningsen as Secretary, and Scott Davis as Treasurer. For Homecoming we chose Kristin Hayford and Chris England to represent our class. The highlight of our Sophomore year was getting our drivers licenses. Ferguson Supply Kits were our selling projects. Our sponsors were Mr. Grant and Mrs. Newlin. 12 Juniors — As Juniors we were kept busy raising money for Prom and our Senior trip. Our President was Steve Wolter, Kristin Hayford was Vice President, Tracy Moseley was Secretary and Sheila Andres was Treasurer. Tracy Moseley and Steve Wolter were Homecoming attendants. We sold magazines to raise money. Our sponsors were Mr. Simpson and Mrs. Newlin. Seniors — We finally made it! After three long years we are finally at the top! For Homecoming we chose Kristin Hayford and Chris England, Katrina Henningsen and Steve Wolter, and Lori Romine and Ted Day as King and Queen candidates. Kristin and Chris were chosen King and Queen. Senior attendants were Stevie Seitz and Shannon Kurr. Our selling project was cheese, sausage, and pizzas this year and our sponsors were Mrs. Farris and Mrs. Newlin. As the last days of school approached we all started having mixed feelings, but we were still anxious to get out and start a new life. We will miss all of the good times we have had here and all of our friends we will be leaving behind. But no matter where we all end up, we will always have our memories to keep us together. 13 June 3, ’88 Graduation First Row: Kristin Hayford, Patty Mauck, Tricia Smith, Sheila Andres, Bobbie Jo Sanders, Michal Speas, Carrie Thompson, Rachael Wierman, Second Row: Angie Whitaker, Steve Seitz, Kris Ponder, Michelle Stutzman, Katrina Henningsen, Lorie Romine, Tracee Franklin, Sandy Harris, Tracy Moseley. The cheerleaders held pep assemblies uptown and at the Grade School, and the pom pon girls did a routine. There was a lot of enthusiasm and everyone was ready for the game against Bement that night. The Rajahs were ready for the Bulldogs and came out looking great. At halftime the homecoming court and winning floats did their routine. In the end the Rajahs lost to Bement 13-12, but they played a great game and we were all very proud of them.
