Seniors Wake Up . . . Twenty-seven seniors, chaperoned by Mr. Steve Shirley and Ms. Fraun Lewis Shirley, had an awakening experience on their senior class trip to Missouri. They travelled by school bus — driven by Ron and Charlotte Eagan. Everyone enjoyed Silver Dollar City and Shepherd of the Hills, as well as the evening entertainment and activities. Looking Back Class History Freshmen As freshmen in high school we were excited, yet we didn't know what was in store for us. Our Homecoming Attendants were Jackie Loy and Tim Dunn. To make money toward our prom and senior trip we sold Christmas ornaments, Tow-Watt kits, and Barbeque at noon. The highlight of the year was receiving our classrings. Juniors We finally made it. Now, being upperclassmen, we had more free time. Our Homecoming Attendants were Michelle Baer and Ronnie Thompson. Our money-making projects were selling magazine subscriptions and sandwiches at noon. Prom was held at the Mattoon Holiday Inn. The theme was Forever Yours and the band was First Class. Prom Prince and Princess were Jeff Jones and Andrea Wallace. Sophomores As sophomores we were excited as we finally reached the goal of receiving our driver's licenses. Our Homecoming Attendants were Beth Conner and Bill Revell. We sold Christmas ornaments, Tom-Watt kits, and sandwiches at noon as our money-making projects. We won the first place prize for our float in the Homecoming parade. 8 7 Seniors ITS BEEN FUN (?) The big year finally arrived, and we found ourselves the leaders instead of the followers. All the things we looked forward to achieving now had only one year in which to be accomplished. Our money making projects were cheese and sausage, pizzas, candy bars, and sandwiches at noon to go for our senior trip to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. Homecoming was a Senior event with Queen Jackie Loy and King Jeff Jones ruling over Grand March leaders Beth Conner, Bill Revell, Michelle Baer, and Ronnie Thompson. Senior Attendants were Heidi Kauffman and Scott Shipman. We won the third place prize for the float we built. As spring drew nearer, we looked forward to prom and graduation, but those of us who planned to attend college were already busy working toward the future even before June 5. 12
