FFA Gains Momentum The FFA increased its activities and its enthusiasm this year. Chapter Farmers were Mike Terril, Steve Davis, and David Gray. David Weir was Star Chapter Farmer. The Poultry Team won 3rd place in the Section. The Ag Mechanics team tied for 1st team. The Farm Management team was 4th place and David Weir won 2nd place in Public Speaking at the Section and 3rd place at the District. FFA week was special this year with the barnyard zoo and FFA tractors crowding the parking lot. Tami Helton served as President; David Weir was Vice President; David Davis was the Secretary; Kendra Freeman was Secretary; Joanna Ploeger, Reporter and Christine Gray, Sentinel. Student Council Invites Santa In addition to sponsoring Homecoming and Student Council Week, this year the C ouncil had a Christmas party on the last day of school before vacation. Mike Sullender donned the traditional garb of Santa and the Student Council provided refreshments. President of the Council was Amy Chesnut; Tami Helton was Vice President, Lori Emberton served as Treasurer; and Julie Cornwell was Secretary. Mr. Jerry Newlin was advisor for the Student Council.
