The 1983-84 cheerleaders cheered on both the football field and the basketball court. The ten member squad consisted of five junior varsity and five varsity. The JV teams were cheered by Paula Chenoweth, Wendy Hodge, Tonya Strohl, Beth Conner, and Andrea Wallace. The Varsity squad was led by Senior Debbie Strohl, captain, Lori Emberton, Beth Eyestone, Alana Heit, and Stephanie Chesnut. They worked hard to lead the fans and boost team spirit. They put up signs in the halls, in football players’ yards, and cheered at pep rallies and games. Pictured at left: Andrea Wallace, Beth Conner, and Paula Chenoweth make signs after school. Baseball Returns To AHHS Members of the learn: Front: Mike Baer, Curtis Harshbarger, Rod Long, Steve Cocking, Chuck Huber, Doug Loy; Standing: Coacb Lyons, Mark Corcoran. Phil Reed, Mike O’Neill, Kyle Wierman. and Mike Sullcnder. Not available: Brent Newlin. Bat girls were Amy Chesnut, Tami Helton, Alana Heit, and Wendy Hodge. The Rajahs returned to the diamond this spring headed by Coach John Lyons after two years without baseball. The costs of the season were paid by citizens of the district as a donation. The Rajahs turned in a 4-8 mark, beat the conference champs, Bement, in one game, and won their first game of the regional. Doug Loy was MVP and Rod Long got the best hitting average. Several team members were chosen all-conference: Rod Long 3rd base for the first team, Doug Loy catcher for second team, Phil Reed second team, and honorable mention for Kyle Wierman.
