Rajahs Receive Awards The Rajahs placed 6 players on All Conference teams. Doug Loy received the highest award, 1st team tackle by unanimous vote. Phil Reed and Rod Long received honorable mention. David Dallas was voted 2nd team end. Craig Conner also received honorable mention. Steve Yeakley was chosen as 2nd team tackle. Senior letter winners included David Dallas, JR Cornwell, Steve Yeakley, and Ronnie Darby. J.R. Cornwell was co-captain of the team and Most Valuable Player. Rajahs Field JV Team Again The football squad was large enough this year to play some junior varsity games again. Coaches John Lyons and Mike Mayhall scheduled three JV games. The JV team won one game against Bement 20 to 0. but lost the other two games to Bement again and to Arthur. With the assistance of these younger players and the leadership of the 11 starters who will return next year, the coaching staff is looking forward to winning seasons next year. The team lost 22 games, hut led in 10 of those losses at some time. Kyle Wierman won the Free Throw award, missing only four shots all season. Mike Sullender won the Rebound award and was chosen Most Valuable Player. Mike also was selected as an All C onference player on the 2nd team. Jeff Behrend was chosen as Most Improved and Rod Long won the De-I.ong award for most hustle. C oach C arpenter praised the seniors for their dedication and style.
