The Rajenes’ hard work gave them a victory over Bement in the sub-regional and led them to the regional to face Areola for the championship game. The Rajenes bowed to Areola in the last 11 seconds as Areola’s free throws were decisive. This loss to the Purple Riders was the only one for the Rajenes. The girls hopes were not to be dampened by the loss to Areola. The next week the girls fought back to capture the LOVC tournament title by again beating the Bement Bulldogs in the championship game by a score of 38-21, as the Rajenes finished their season with an impressive 16-1 record. Mr. Ed Noffke who decided not to continue coaching completed his career with a two-year record of 26-4. The JV also had a good season ending with an undefeated status of 10-0. However, Charley receives a telegram from his aunt stating that she will not be able to make it after all. There must be a chaperone, or the girls will not be able to stay to luncheon.
