Marcia Willey was chosen for Girl’s State with Peggy Sellable as her alternate; Gregg Ponder was chosen for Boy’s State. Receiving firsts at the state music contest were Kathy Pourchot, Peggy Schable, Karen Standerfer, and Pam Walkup. Playing in the dance band were Russell Dukeman and Gregg Ponder. Wanda Brown was accompanist for the chorus. Juniors holding offices were: FFA-Dave West, vice-president; Wayne Schable, reporter; Dean Day, sentinel. FHA Theresa Koeberlein, president. GAA Kathy Pourchot, vice-president; Margaret Hendrickson, Kathy Pourchot, and Karen Standerfer, sportheads. Library Club-Marcia Willey, Student Council: Rob Personett served as vice-president of Student Council. Gregg Taylor was awarded the free throw trophy, Rob Personett the rebound trophy and was voted the most valuable player. Honorary co-captains were Lonnie Conner and Rob Personett. Lonnie was fifth in the Okaw Valley Conference scoring and was named to the third All Conference team. In track. Jeff Harshbarger placed first in the high hurdles at the Shelbyville Open. Serving as managers were Lonnie Conner, football; Larry Biggs, Russell Dukeman, Beryl Harshbarger, and Jim Libbin, basketball. Wanda Brown and Kathy Pourchot attended Egyptian Music Camp, while Peggy Schable attended E1U Music Camp. Those attending Fellowship of Christian Athletics Camp were Mark Bragg, Beryl Harshbarger, Jeff Harshbarger, Jim Libbin, Rob Personett, John Quick, Eric Stephenson, and Gregg Taylor. Juniors sponsored the Prom which was held on April 28, 1967 at the Moose Club in Champaign with the theme, “April Love.” Pam Walkup rejoined us after spending her previous year in Japan. Dan Ferguson moved to Champaign and Bill Hare moved to Lovington. Faye Binder dropped out. Advising the class were Mrs. Irene Davenport and Douglas Paris. Starting their final year at A-HHS were eighteen girls and thirty-one boys. Elected to lead the class were Russel Dukeman, president; Rob Personett, vice-president; Kathy Pourchot, secretary and treasurer; Peggy Sellable and Gregg Ponder, Student Council; Wanda Brown and Doug Whitley class reporters. King Rob Personett, crowned Karen Standerfer queen of the 1967-68 homecoming. Grand March leaders were Kathy Pourchot,Peggy Schable, Jeff Harshbarger, and Gregg Taylor. Margaret Hendrickson was senior attendant with her escort, Jim Libbin. The senior float, “Happiness is Homecoming,” received first place. Varsity cheerleaders were Kathy Pourchot, Peggy Schable, and captain Karen Standerfer. AT-TO-HI editorial staff writers were Keith Casteel, Pam Walkup and Karen Standerfer, co-editors: Jim Libbin, sports editor and Student Council representative; Jim Crowe, and Marcia Willey. Production staff members were Cindy Chambers, Pam Adams, Theresa Koeberlein, Connie Patrick, Marsha Reisner. Keith was also chosen vice-president of the Okaw Valley Student Council. Serving as sports managers were: Mark Bragg, Greg Traxler, football; Russell Dukeman and Jim Libbin, basketball. Eric Stephenson received the tackle trophy and shared co-captain honors with Jeff Harshbarger. Neil Cox was awarded the free throw trophy and was voted the most valuable player; Rob Personett was awarded the rebound trophy and shared co-captain honors with Gregg Taylor. Karen Kauffman was awarded the Homemaker of Tomorrow Award given by Betty Crocker. Wanda Brown accompanied chorus and dance band. Other members of dance band included Russell Dukeman and Gregg Ponder. The Senior class play, ‘The Skin of our Teeth,” was given on April 19. Receiving firsts at contest were Karen Standerfer, Kathy Pourchot, Peggy Schable, trio; Kathy Pourchot and Marcia Willey, duet. The seniors were guests of the Juniors at Prom on April 26. It was held at the Moose Club in Champaign with the theme being, “Love Is Blue.” Gained during the year was Jim Slade. Named valedictorian was Keith Casteel with Jim Libbin salutatorian. The Arion award was presented to Gregg Ponder. Elected to the National Honor Society were Keith Casteel, Jim Libbin, Rob Personett, Gregg Ponder, Kathy Pourchot, Karen Standerfer, Gregg Taylor and Marcia Willey. 27

Turkish 8ATH, SKIN OF OUR TEETH” Here is a comedy about George Antro-bus, his wife and two children, and their general utility maid, Lily Sabina, all of Excelsior, New Jersey. George Antrobus is John Doe or George Spelvin or you-the average American at grips with a destiny, sometimes sour, sometimes sweet. The Antrobuses have survived fire, flood, pestilence, the seven-year locusts, the ice age, the black pox and the double feature, a dozen wars and as many depressions. They run many a gamut,are as durable as radiators, and look upon the future with a disarming optimism. Alternately bewitched, befuddled and becalmed, they are the stuff of which heroes are made - heroes and buffoons. They are true offspring of Adam and Eve, victims of all the ills that flesh is heir to. They have survived a thousand calamities by the skin of their teeth.
