PIONEER, GO HOME To the Kwimper family, the settling of the West was NOT the end f the frontier. They found a new one down on the Gulf (. 'isr--a strip of unclaimed land along a magnificent state highway. Pop, Toby, the twins, and Holly, the babysitter. thought it was idyllic. The authorities had other ideas. They had a few tricks up their sleeves to oust the Kwimpers--including a beautiful welfare worker--but they didn't reckon on Toby's manly resourcefulness or Holly's pretty head for business. Here is a comic novel with many a cogent comment to make about individual initiative and the pioneering spirit which, fortunately, continue to bloom in the most unlikely soil. ’’ Reader's Digest, Condensed Books No. 1, 1960.
