Commenting on the difference between the Swiss and American schools, Heidi said that the Swiss school system provides a more general knowledge, since all the students are required to take a certain number of subjects every year, and it is very easy to flunk. On the other hand she envies American students who learn very early how to talk in front of people. PIONEER, GO HOME To the Kwimper family, the settling of the West was NOT the end f the frontier. They found a new one down on the Gulf (. 'isr--a strip of unclaimed land along a magnificent state highway. Pop, Toby, the twins, and Holly, the babysitter. thought it was idyllic. The authorities had other ideas. They had a few tricks up their sleeves to oust the Kwimpers--including a beautiful welfare worker--but they didn't reckon on Toby's manly resourcefulness or Holly's pretty head for business. Here is a comic novel with many a cogent comment to make about individual initiative and the pioneering spirit which, fortunately, continue to bloom in the most unlikely soil. ’’ Reader's Digest, Condensed Books No. 1, 1960. A VERY_ Long journey, back through the eons to a world which the history books do not know--a world where our imaginations are not hampered by names and faces, dates and places--the world as it was when time began. Can you picture it? The strange lush green of the tropical rain forest--the nightmarish animals--the dinosaur--the mammoth--the saber-tooth--they rule the world. But wait! Another species--puny and weak and totally unequipped to live in this jungle! How can man possibly survive? And yet, man has a secret hidden weapon--a mind! What an age to be alive in! Everything violently new and a challenge--a world full of knowledge waiting to be discovered. Cave Men and Women Cave boys study climbing, clubbing, and clobbering. “ I caught the fish like you said.
