Dedication This year we seek to disprove the adage, A prophet is not without honor save in his own countryf' Therefore, we give honor to those who have given years of their lives to the education of Portage County youth. Patiently serving the public, the classroom teacher is seldom given the praise she deserves-for it is she who moulds much of the character symbolic of American living. Teacher, we salute you. From the day we start to school until we graduate, your ideals guide usp your hand leads us through our perplexities and on to our success. If we fail, we know your sympathy will inspire us to try again and to keep trying. The title page and the entire Speedometer of 1952 is dedicated to you. The pictures appearing on the title page are those of teachers who are oldest in years of service in their particular school buildings. They represent all of you. Our wish is that your influence may never diminish and your worth may be better realized through the coming years.
