Grade 10 Grade 9 Grade 8 Grade '7 Grade 6 Grade 5 Hi Kids, Welcome to another eventful year at A.H.S. The excitement of seeing all the kids once more and the greeting of our new teachers as well as the same ones we had last year, remind us that school is here once more. Jerry Green was chosen president ef the Seniors, Diane Ford the Juniors, Helen Loudin the Sophomores, John Krichbaum the Freshmen, Nevin Wertenberger the Eighth Grade, and Wanda Russell the Seventh Grade. Our cheerleaders were elected and Joanne Smith, Joyce Smith, Betty Miller, and Joanne Anderson led the rah-rahs for the Varsity while Betty Wearley, Dorothy Richards, Betty Russell, and Wanda Jones were chosen for the Reserves. Our Athletic Auction was held in October and was quite successful. The highlight of the fall activities was our fifth annual Homecoming over which Betty Miller reigned as Queen and Tom Craven as King. Our football season was well under Way by now but not doing so well as we had hoped, but we were always willing and ready to back our team. It 'Wasn't long before the Juniors got their rings which were very pretty and proudly sported their maroon and white jackets. In May the Juniors gave us a Prom-that will re- main forever in our memories. Soon we left for our trip to Washington, but after we got back there was Baccalaureate and Recognition Night. Then came the day, Commencement, a lump in every throat, a tear in our eyes, our diplomas, and saying goodby for the last time as a class of Atwater High, 11
